9 videos on race and privilege
Not everyone wants to, or has time to read a long list of books, I get that. Also I have it on good authority that a lot of the books on race are currently sold out. Still want to educate yourself? Privilege
1. The Race
It's an oldie but a goodie. The most powerful visual demonstration of privilege I have ever seen.
2. The Average Black Girl
A spoken word piece on when you're told it's OK because you aren't like the other black people because of your privilege. This actually happens. It's happened to me.
3. The urgency of intersectionality
Black women are also killed through police brutality in the US, why can we not remember their names? A powerful explanation and exploration of the importance of intersectionality.
The UK Black Experience
4. Dave at the BRITs
British rapper Dave's performance at the BRITs this year was an unapologetic and powerful musical documentation of black life in the UK.
5. Where are you from?
This is a US video, but it resonates. Throughout my life I have regularly been asked 'Where are you from?' and then when I reply with Hampshire... "No, but where are you really from?"

6. Future not Fetish
A exploration of some questions that you've probably never had to ask yourself as a non-ethnic person dating.
7. What Beyonce taught me about race
A TEDx talk about the expectations and allowances of what a Black women can and cannot be, and the subconscious bias that unpins it.
Representation on screen
8. Open letter to Black People in Horror Movies
You must have noticed that the black guy always dies first? We notice. This spoken word piece is funny and clever.
Colonialism
9. How Africa can use its traditional knowledge to make progress
This TED talk is about the merits of traditional agriculture, but if you watch it I think you'll see it's actually about colonialism.
