Expedition artwork: plastics sailing in the North Pacific

After an amazing experience with John Ruskey and Quapaw Canoe Company on the Mississippi in 2016 (story to follow), I started sketching each time I travel. For my trips that have a social or environmental message, I'm working on the best way to use art to engage others with the stories. This is a work in progress and I will be sharing my experiments and new processes on this site.

The below art is from my eXXpedition North Pacific voyage this summer. This was an all-women sail, from Vancouver to Seattle, with a focus on the impact of plastic pollution on remote coastlines and communities.
