Speaker: Kendal Mountain Festival 2023
I had decided to take Kendal Mountain Festival 2023 off - a fallow year for me to just enjoy the festival and prioritise meeting people in person and catching up. However, in typical fashion, once you are going it’s harder to say, ‘No’. Plus we wanted to run two All The Elements’ socials on the Friday. So much for no work! I think maybe it’s just not possible at KMF. I should just lean into it!
On Saturday, I was on a panel talking about ‘Belonging’, organised by Opening Up The Outdoors (OUTO). I was part of their changemaker programme in 2022. Also on the panel were Paris Bethel from OUTO, Kate O’Brien, EDI Strategic Lead from The Outward Bound Trust and Amanda Calder-McLaren who is chair of the OUTO board and marketing at The North Face.
On Sunday, I took part in a live podcast recording for Looking Sideways and The Adventure Podcast. The subject was The Power of Storytelling - New Perspectives. As well as the hosts Matt Barr and Matt Pycroft, I also got to speak alongside activist, broadcaster and POW UK general manager Lauren MacCallum and photographer, writer and POW UK marketing manager Adam Raja.
